As an innovation principle, our commitment to safety is unwavering; thus, we're proud to announce that the FixGrid Pro is now UL 3741 certified. This certification addresses the safety processes and principles for evaluating rapid-shutdown PV arrays.

What does this mean for you?

The UL 3741 standard is an economical alternative to the NEC 690.12 rapid shutdown requirement.

The NEC 690.12 Rapid Shutdown requirement can make rooftop system design more difficult and expensive by requiring additional equipment to be installed, making the system more expensive for your customers and the installation longer for your crew. However, in 2020, the UL Standards and Engagement Institute developed the UL 3741 Standard for Safety for Photovoltaic (PV) Hazard Control, which addresses safety principles and procedures for the evaluation of rapid shutdown PV systems that can protect firefighters from shock hazards on homes and buildings with solar panels, giving the entire solar industry a more economical alternative for both installers and end users, while making solar installations safer by reducing the overall number of components in the system.

With this in mind, we have developed a cable management system for our FixGrid Pro rooftop mounting system that makes it safer for firefighters and others working in and around the PV array, effectively meeting the UL 3741 standard.

With the Schletter FixGrid Pro rooftop mounting system, rapid-shutdown devices are no longer required, provided you follow the installation instructions specified in the UL3141 appendix of the installation manual.
